Le projet de recherche Autres archives, autres histoires: les archives d'en bas en France et au Québec mené conjointement entre le Québec (Université Laval) et la France (Université d'Angers) étudie, dans une approche comparative et non institutionnelle, les relations entre archives et pouvoir ainsi que les modalités d'émergence, d'affirmation et d'animation de projets d'archivage alternatifs. Il s'agit de regarder les archives "par en bas", de décentrer le regard, de porter une interrogation dynamique et d'observer les processus d'émancipation et l'agentivité (la capacité d'agir) qui traversent certains projets d'archivage. Cette perspective a pour ambition d'étudier la manière dont les marges archivistiques sont habitées. Dans cet article, nous aborderons trois cas d'étude qui donnent corps à cette réflexion, à savoir les archives de communauté au Canada et au Québec, les archives des radios communautaires et les archives étudiantes en France. Ces différents points de vue ont pour objectif d'étudier la manière dont les archives structurent une identité, une mémoire, une histoire, un patrimoine et dont les pratiques s'articulent autour d'un objet, d'une communauté ou d'un thème.
The research project Autres archives, autres histoires: les archives d'en bas en France et au Québec (Other Archives, Other Histories: Archives "from the Bottom up" in France and Quebec) undertaken jointly by Quebec (Laval University) and France (University of Angers) is studying, with a comparative, non-institutional approach, the relations between archives and power as well as the modalities of the emergence, affirmation and animation of alternative archival projects. They are looking at archives "from the bottom up," decentering the gaze, bringing to bear a dynamic interrogation, and observing the processes of emancipation and agency (the capacity to act) which inform certain archives projects. The ambition of this perspective is to study the manner in which the margins of archives are inhabited. In this article, we discuss three cases which embody this reflection: community archives in Quebec and Canada, the archives of community radio, and student archives in France. The objective of these different points of focus is to study the way that archives structure identity, memory, history, and heritage, and the way these practices are articulated around an object, a community, or a theme.
